Psalms 1

Dan told me he won't be able to help mefind an engineering job through his recruitment company (because they don't do engineering workers) but told me to read psalms.

I picked up the bible and read chapter 1 and this is what it said..

Oh, the joys of those who do not
follow the advice of the wicked,
or stand around with sinners,
or join in the mockers.

But they delight in the law of the Lord,
meditating on it day and night.
They are like trees planted along the riverbank,
bearing fruit each season.
Their leaves never wither,
and they prosper in all they do.

ps: note that it is not future tense but present tense.
I will hold onto His promises!

be still

Hide me now
Under your wings
Cover me
within your mighty hand

When the oceans rise and thunders roar
I will soar with you above the storm
Father you are king over the flood
I will be still and know you are God

Find rest my soul
In Christ alone
Know his power
In quietness and trust

Didn't get any interviews today...Felt depressed but I will still trust in God. I kinda lost focus for a short while and thought that I'm screwed. But God has His own plan in His own timing... like what my dad who is a non believer said (can't wait for the day He gets save).

Thank you Ai for your support. I thought of this song and remembered a video I watched of you as a worship leader in your youth fellowship in RC. God has amazing plans for all of us especially for those that trust Him.

Step 1 (after knowing about the visa processing period)

Tomorrow is going to be maybe an exciting day...

First Interview
I am going to go to the Compac Sorting and ask for the electronics assembler position that they're advertising. It's a 2 months contract which is perfect for me as I'll be flying off to Philippines for a mission trip after that period. I'll be working from Monday to Thursday which mean that I'll be earning more. I'll be learning something different since it'll be a different technology.

Second Interview
I am going to Newwindow which is a company that develop touch screen monitors. My friend Sean works there so he might be able to find out if there's any position available. If there is I'll be marching up there straight after compac in the afternoon to ask for an interview while I'm there. Just going to be thick face and go door knocking.

Also got to get some certificates certified by the Justice of Peace tomorrow so I can complete my remaining of the my application for my working visa to Australia.

That's my plan tomorrow....Hopefully it goes well.

ps: Got two korean girls who want to learn piano from me LOL. maybe that will be my extra income!

Homebrew Digital Thermometer

So Shannon has been complaining that this blog has been quite quiet...

In response to that, its time to show my off my very first home made digital thermometer I completed last week! LOL.

Decisions again

Feeling confused and maybe anxious a little... just a little.

Today I got my results for my IELTS test. I got an 8 which was above the minimum requirement of 7. Praise Him for this achievement.

Finally having my results, I spent today in my room applying for my working visa to Australia. I was curious how long it would take the process the whole thing, and got a shock when I found some answers that I didn't want to see from the website..click here to see

Apparently it'll take 7 months to get it sorted. Apart from that I have applied for this visa knowing that our famous university of Auckland is not found on the list of recognised universities (super weird!). In other words, after waiting for a few months, there's a chance that I might find out that I didn't get the visa approved because of that issue. If that happens, I was planning to apply to become a New Zealand citizen, but that would take another year. If everything bad happens, I would only be able to go to Australia middle of 2012!

You know, I have fears that I won't be able to see Shannon on a regular basis if I don't go over (i.e I'll only be able to see her beginning of 2011 and probably end of 2011). I'm afraid that we will get burned out having long distant relationship for such a long period of time. So what if I get my visa over in Australia? that might take a while for me to find a job in Melbourne. What if I don't find a job in Melbourne ?

Anyhow, that's another stage that I'll have to deal with soon. But for now I have to make a few important decisions that will affect me and others in the future. Why is my life so 'exciting' at the moment ? lol

Just when I thought now I can now temporary relax and just leave my application to the immigration officers, I now have other things on my mind --> to find a full time job in NZ in case my application is not successful or takes too long. Time is getting real short....

Lazy Bloggers

After a long period of not updating this blog....
I made a conclusion that the bloggers of this blog are just plain LAZY!!
LOL..

or maybe cause there's nothing to blog about.. which is SAD.

Long distant relationship

Long distant relationship is like water....

You only realised that it taste sweeter when you haven't drank it for a while.
But at the same time if you haven't got any of it to drink for a period of time, you'll eventually die of thirst.

Random but that came to me yesterday night.

Grace

I always thought that I'm not bad at being gracious to other people, but not completely.

I might be a little short of showing Grace sometimes...

Grace is my favourite topic, but it's not easy if we don't focus our spiritual eyes to the source of Grace, Christ himself.

Let this be a lesson for me to have more grace in my life in the future.

peace :)

To Confront or not to confront

To Confront or not to confront ?

Got a little disappointed today when I found out that Josh and Pastor Dan was having a meeting with Sam and Emma who would potentially start a new life group.

A few weeks ago, Josh asked for lunch to chat to me about starting a new life group with Emma who is a few years younger than me. I told him that I was keen but would wanna pray about it. He said that's cool and will get back to me soon for a meeting with him and Dan.

To me what disappoints me is not the fact that I got replaced, but the fact that everything was done behind my back without even informing me. Why didn't he even give me a call to let me know how things were going? I even went up to chat to Emma about starting a new life group thing and just to know her a little better. Talked to friends about it too. A little embarrass that now somebody else was elected, and I didn't even know about it! When I text him to ask how the new life group is going, he replied saying that it's going great and sam and emma are now the new leaders and asked me if I wanted join it ><

Anyhow, Josh and Sam are great men and I respect the decision gladly. Even though Shannon asked if it broke my ego and pride (I said a little), I think that it's not about pleasing the leaders (like how the way OCF does it) but it's about the people they are serving. Maybe I need some more polishing up.... much more....

so, to confront him and not to confront?

Finally

I finally found some time to write a decent post. LOL.
Or at least that is what i hope to write as i'm typing now.

For the past few weeks, all i've been doing is just completing one assignment after another and also watch youtube videos and downloaded CSI New York. Have been pretty stressed out that I have rashes covered almost half of my face. I'm taking a night off before trying to catch up on my studies that i neglected for the pass 3 weeks... i sure have quite a bit of catching up to do.

I just thought i would take the opportunity to write an appreciation post for Richard. *hehe*
Wanna thank him for being there for me.. through my stressful moments.
Wanna thank him for recording a song for me.
Wanna thank him for trying so hard to be here with me.

Really do appreciate everything you are doing for me.
Most of all, thank you for loving me.

Guess what, another 70 days to go before i get to see you again!
Can't wait for the moment when i see you at the airport!

At the mean time, let's just do what we can to please and serve God and others around us. Let's try put a smile on God's face and the on the faces of the people around us.  =)

IELTS !

Finally finished my IELTS today. Feels just like another day when I finish any exams. The relief...ooo it feels so good ! muahahahah.....

Was telling Ai how rude some of the facilitators were today to some of the guys who couldn't understand the instructions. You could see them trying hard to understand what the lady was saying. But the lady just didn't have any pity on them and starting barking at them the moment they didn't follow the instructions (eg open your passport to the first page for inspection) Speaking of rude....

Anyway, overall the exam went well. Hopefully I manage to get enough points to meet the minimum requirement. Results will be out on the 24th of Sep.

A scary thing that happened while I was driving home today was when I nearly got into an accident. It was sooo close! After dropping a new chinese friend I met at the test center today I offered to give him a ride to the nearest bus stop near my house. A car traveling the opposite direction which seems to be controlled by a drunk driver seemed to cross the division line and nearly drove right into me. He was driving so fast ! geez... luckily I managed to dodge him quick enough. Had a cold drop of sweat across my forehead as I imagined how bad the accident who have been if I didn't avoid him quick enough... Thank God I was saved.

More obstacles

I woke up this morning thinking about my application for my working visa to Australia....

Why are there now more obstacles appearing ? Shannon helped me make a call yesterday to the visa immigration board to ask them some questions on my behalf. Only to find out that its really true that the University of Auckland is not in the list of recognised universities. I'll have to give them a call today to ask them to apply to be part of the list...Weird!

She also said that I have to sit for the IELTS test which I guess sounds fair (apart from the $NZD355) fee. We had a thought last night thinking what happens if I don't get working visa to Australia ? How come the journey there is so rough. At some point I even thought of considering giving up my Malaysian passport to become a New Zealand Citizen....

While having breakfast this morning, I saw a bird standing on the fence. It firstly reminded me of the verse that goes :

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?  Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
Matthew 6:25-34

It also reminded me of the eagle which was preached by Pastor Tony last week.  But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

I have been presenting my desires to God and today during my quiet time I felt him telling me to carry on with my plans and He'll guide me. My previous interviews all have gone down hill and now that I am planning to go over to Australia, there's more obstacles that pop up. Yuck! But again it reminded me of what Pastor Tony said last week " God's more interested in our character than just fulfilling our desires"

Hopefully things will go well with my application.....
