Baguio Day 4
Today wasn't a regular Sunday that I experienced normally in New Zealand.
It started off really early at 7.30am where we headed out to a house where people met up. It wasn't your typical "normal" church that you would expect. People who attended church today was approximately 20 people. Not bad for a small house.
They greeted us with a welcome song, followed by an introduction of the team and individual member. I personally remembered what Pastor Duane said about me. He told the girls in the church to be careful because I had beautiful eyes ( a small girl told me that a during day 1 of the trip ) He said that I had a girl friend overseas so I am basically taken LOL. He also said that I was really quiet before. After that we were all given flowers that were handpicked from their farm.
Pastor Alfred shared a message about faith today. The service ended with the team going out to pray for the people individually. There was this girl whom I prayed for and she started weeping and weeping. I don't know what was going on inside her but perhaps God was working inside her. Another girl that I was prayed for (btw, I did not intentionally pick girls...just that the guys I prayed for were quite stiff and did not respond as much as the girls did) was the daughter of Pastor Arnold, the local pastor. Before I went over to her, I asked the holy spirit if there was anything I could pray for the people here. I looked around and when I saw her I felt that God was going to use her to be a leader and send her to places far beyond Barguio. I wasn't sure if it was just me or God speaking through me. But after wrestling with myself, I went over to her and told her what I sensed. I laid hands and prayed for her and she started weeping. Inside me, I hope that I got this right...
We had lunch there and I joined the youth for their prayer meeting. It was all in Tagalok but I just pretended that I understand everything that they said. They were mostly very shy! (and I thought I was shy) I closed in prayer for the youth and then we headed out to the next home church an hours drive away.
In this church, me and Joel and Pastor Duane and his wife took care of the kids with some locals, while pastor Alfred preached to the adults. Joel shared for the kids, and I thought it was pretty deep relatively for the kids. Anyhow it went well with some help from Pastor Duane and Auntie Jennie. I played with the kids after while waiting for Pastor Alfred to finish. He preached a little long so it ended a little later than usual. However I really enjoyed playing with the kids. They were so adorable. One particular kid I remembered kept running to me to ask me to carry her and give her a 'vibrating' hug. I like her really much and wished I could bring her home. There was another boy who lost his 3 sisters (I don't know how cause he didn't want to tell me) who looked very sad. After playing some random one on one boy games with him and teaching him some of my limited guitar chords, he started to smile and somehow I felt that we connected.
There was just so much need in Baguio and I'm just blessed to be able to contribute a little today.

Baguio Day 3
Today was an early start. I woke up at 6.00 am for some random reason. So I continued preparing to share with the kids. We went to Itogon which was 1.5 hours away from Baguio city.
The placed we went to was deep inside some rural area. They were really poor and even had to pay rent for the house they were living in. The house we went to cost them 5000 pesos for 5 years which was approximately $NZD120 for 5 years ! It was small and there were no proper beds for the kids and adults to sleep in, yet they were quite content with the things they had.
The Itogon kids were the opposite from the kids we ministered to in Agoo. They were so shy! Yet at the same time they were very well behaved and so adorable. I shared about Peter and Jesus walking on water. Using my rusty story telling skills that I obtained when I was in primary school I shared the story and juicing it up a little bit. I tried to get the kids to engage with me, but the response was little. But by the end of the Kid's church they felt more comfortable and responded a bit. I got Pastor Dwayne to act as Jesus and his son, Joseph to act as Peter.
While we were praying for each kid individually, there were a few kids that started weeping. Auntie Jennie said that it's not often that these kid response emotionally. But there was this particular girl that I was observing. Her name was Joy Joy. She was so sad. She did not respond to my stories and things I asked them to do. Even when I gave out gifts to the kids, she would go and hide at a corner by herself. Speaking of giving out gifts, these kids are the most behaved kids i have ever seen! When they received more marbles then they thought they should get, they equally split it among themself!
Anyway, back to Joy Joy. I tried my best to be friend her. I gave her extra sweets and chocolates. I talked to her and played with her more than the other kids. I even gave her my personal key chain torch light cause she lived in a very poor house and might find it handy! Finally, she smiled.
While we entertained the kids, the adults had a great time of experiencing God's presence. Pastor Alfred shared about the Holy Spirit. There were people weeping, people laughing, and also people singing songs you don't hear often =)
After that we went house visiting. We split into male and the female group.
In the male's group, we first went to the house where an old man had a stroke. We prayed for him as a team. Next we went to an old lady's house. Pastor Dwayne chucked me into a deep end asking me to share about God's healing powers. I wasn't prepared at all about that! So I started talking whatever I could think of about God's love and healing power. Thank God for a translator. That gave me time to think what to say next. In the next house, Pastor Dwayne asked me to pray for this lady who had eye problem and also pray for this man who couldn't walk. I heard that this man could only walk for a few steps before. But today was the first time he could walk further-- A total of 3 rounds! Praise God.
We had Ice cream on the way home and it was just a good day to be able to be used by God. Even if there were no instantaneous healing. I believed that God will work things out in His way and His time. I believed God has used us to be a vessel for His love and glory, and because of that miracles will unleash in His time and His will.

Baguio Day 2
The morning started off with shopping which was "shiok"! We shopped at the SM mall and had a tour around different places....(photos to be uploaded soon)
Today we went to Agoo which was approximately an hour's drive away.
In the evening, we went to a house in Agoo where we had a leadership meeting there. There were approximately 10-15 adults there. We worshiped and then had pastor alfred share about freedom from bondages. It was a good sermon and the team then prayed for people there. I personally felt the presence of God in the room with people who hunger so much for him. Even when I spoke in the spirit I started speaking words that I had never spoken before.
Later we prayed for different people. There was a lady in particular who was 17 (she was the intepreter's sister) that I remembered the team praying for. She had problem hearing. We prayed for her. She started weeping. Today she didn't get healed but I believed God was doing something inside her. I don't know when she'll get heal but I know Pastor Dwayne and Auntie Jennie will continue to pray for her and allow God to work in her through us vessels.

The day we finally met
I woke up early on Tuesday.. dressed up and prepared myself to finally meet Richard, after 4 months. Reached the airport by 7 40 and waited till 9 50 before i saw him. Richard said i looked great... and pastor Alfred asked if i lost weight.. LOL
I was really excited... Finally having to meet him after so long.
We didnt do much the whole day.. we basically spent most of the time at home.
Resting and catching up.
Went out for lunch and dinner.
It felt good...
But that only lasted a day. =(
Really wished time would fly a little faster so he'll be flying back from Philippines soon.
At the mean time while he's there.. I pray that he would be a tremendously blessing to the people he comes in contact with. I pray that he would touch many lives through the love of God. I pray that he would be the man God has called him to be.
I'm going to be alone for the next few days... wished i had company.. =(
Come home soon k?
I'm missing you...

Baguio Day 1
So today was my first day in Baguio. It was an interesting trip and I felt bless to be part of it.
The day started off with me waking up at 4am as I was knocked out the previous night at 9pm. It was due to the lack of sleep on the plane and all the traveling.
The morning at 10pm started off with a devotion led by me about running the race for God. We gathered around and just read the word together and discussed about it.
We went to Agoo today as our first trip at 2pm as children finished their schools at 4.30pm. The drive from Baguio to Agoo was long and windy. Approximately 1 hours drive there. We had a total of 8 guys in the car. 2 Philliphine translator in their 20s and the rest of us.
We reached Agoo which was pretty much a fishing village with a lot of children. We started of with worship with mp3 recordings of Tagalok worship songs and very simple worship songs ( draw me close to you) What touched me were the ways how little kids worship. They sang with their eyes closed and also hands lifted high. Of course there were also little kids who were noisy and distracted and generally we were worshiping in a loud and noisy environment with older boys playing basketball at the court next to where we were singing.
Handing out goodies and sweets were a nightmare. They flocked to us and surrounded us. It was really hard handing out sweets to them as there were very little system going on. Anyhow Joel shared today with the help out of our dear translator. Our translator was very engaging and a really good translator. It ended up with Joel asking any kids who wanted to accept Jesus into their hearts and saying the sinner's prayer.
It started to rain then. Night time was the time for the adults. It started off with worship and pastor Alfred led the meeting. It was about bondage and letting God set us free. The team started to pray for these guys who came up for prayer. I personally prayed real loud and in the spirit (knowing that they little understanding of what I was praying). But it was a real step of faith. I started to wept as I felt these bondages that they were experiencing. A elderly lady whom I was praying for held onto my hand as I laid that hand on her shoulders, almost to say "thank you", even though she probably had very little understand of what I speaking.
We ended the day with Jolibee nearby and headed home. Me and Joel took a taxi on the way home as Pastor Dwayne had to send the 2 translator home which were very far away.
I was blessed today.

tomorrow !!!!!!
I wrote a post a few months back with the same title "tomorrow!!!!"
Because it as the same day and it was same feeling I had when I went over to Melbourne to visit Ai.
Can't wait to see her!
2nd time Worship leading in Grace Assembly Auckland
Just got back from GAA. We were helping out with Sunday worship since they only have one worship leader.
Overall, it was a good worship session, though I really hoped that I had better sleep last night. I had a repeated song going over in my mind all through until morning. So I had quite a bad night. Also I dreamed that I failed a paper. It was sooo weird.
Michele was an amazing singer that just requires a little working on her confidence a little. But she was good!
So was Jeanelle. She was a natural but again lots of room for improvement. Eugene always as good on the bass as usual and Jilian on the keys. Adrian was a passionate drummer while Jeremy was a team player lead guitarist. Alan, a good friend and also a hardworking guitarist.

Pastor Alfred was leaving today. Apparently he believes that God is taking him to a different place from GAA. So the church was praying for him today.

Books
Today I received a parcel for the book I ordered, a book that was recommended by a few friends and mentor before...
Maybe I was impulsive but I bought it anyway for a good price LOL.
Few weeks ago, I also bought a book as shown on the bottom...
I bought it because it was recommended by Archie as I was telling him sometimes it can be quite hard working with certain people with different nature especially in the work force.
ps: Ai's going to kill me cause I haven't finished reading the book she bought for me last time (Dug Down Deep by Joshua Harris) and bought new ones to read. lol

Thank you for also showing me and confirming with me that you are going to heal Dan Conolly's tinnitus. I have released that word yesterday and expect to see healing miracles happen.

12 more days!!
It's the second last week of work for me..
soon I'll be officially jobless..
I don't know how long the money I earned can sustain.
Got lots of plans, but very short on money...feel a little bad I can't take my friend coming to Auckland soon to many far places.
No interviews yet, but at the same time I will continue to apply for jobs and hope that My father grants me my desired job.
I got an encouraging email recently and know that my 30+ rejected applications is nothing compared to his 130+ rejected applications. Moral of that story is never give up. Thanks for the email.
Another 12 more days before I get to see a special friend. Can't wait !

Being Loved
Richard said that I should start posting something here... cause it was OUR blog and not his blog. I've been rather laid back when it comes to posting anything here. Well.. it did start off as his blog. =P
I was thinking of something to write here but the only topic i can really think of now is how loved I am by the man- Richard. I seriously cannot think of anything else to write but this. So here goes...I hope those reading this wont get bored of our love stories.. LOL. If you are, don't bother reading any further.
I have made pretty bad decisions before with regards to my past relationships. Being naive and stupid, all my past left in me was hurt and lessons learned. I've never really experienced what it was like to be really loved by a man who loves whole heartedly. Not until I met Richard.
So I'll start off by sharing how we actually met. During my summer break last year, I decided to make a trip to Auckland for a 12 day holiday. Taking advantage of the fact that I had our dear friend- Alan, there. He was kind enough to accommodate me and introduced me to a few of his friends. That's how I got to know Richard.
Throughout my whole 12 days... Besides Alan, I saw Richard on 11 days (except the 1st) of my trip down under. Richard was Alan's substitute tour guide, cause Alan had to work. I went to Auckland with the mind set of enjoying myself.. rewarding myself for all the hard work and effort throughout my semester. What i never would have expected out of the 12 day trip was the find a man who loved me so much- gradually.
A few things happened in Auckland in which i will never forget. (fake rose and knees, card and bracelet, sling shot, coastal walk, sky diving, amazingly awesome people). Most of them involved him being a part of it. I even told my mum that I felt happier in Auckland during that 12 days compared to the whole semester i spent in Melbourne.
We kept in constant contact with each other through MSN, text messeges, SKYPE, Facebook and emails. Until this very day, we have been saying goodnight to each other every night except maybe for a few days when we couldn't. I find it amazing that we still do it till this very day, cause from my past experience, guys don't bother anymore after a few months. But Richard has proven to be different. My feelings for him grew as I got to know him more. It was not love at first sight or a rush of adrenaline. It was a gradual increase in interest and affection.
I love how he is always complementing others and importantly me *LOL*.. something you don't find in most asians. I love how is humble enough to apologize and admit if he made a mistake. I love the say he freely expresses himself. I love how he takes the effort to spend time with me online- even when we seem to run out of topics to talk about. I love how he buys his mum flowers every once in a while. I love how he puts effort into the things he does. I love it when he plays the piano for me. *melts*. I love the fact that he made it a point to talk to my parents and pastor first before asking me to be his girlfriend. Most of all, I love his genuine heart for God.
Richard has loved me like no other man has.. (not including God, Jesus and my parents of course). He is one of a kind. Note that I'm not blinded by love. I know his weaknesses... and Richard knows mine too. But he chose to look pass those weaknesses and flaws, and believe in me. Something I really appreciate.
I have never had a guy keep telling me how beautiful I am to him (even though i know i'm average looking). I have never had a guy record his own singing for me. I have never had a guy fly all the way just to be with me. I have never had a guy striving so hard for a future for us. I have never felt so loved and cherished. I have never experienced all of that till I met Richard.
All I can say is that I am blessed.. sooooo blessed. =)
Thank You Lord for writing my love story in a way that I would have never thought it would happen. Thanks for answering my prayer that You would sweep me off my feet. I would have never thought that I would find a man whom i love so dearly just from a 12 day holiday trip to Auckland. Indeed You do work in ways i cannot foresee. Your plans are indeed better than mine. I love You Lord!!
