After a very nice and chil-laxing break... I'm back in same old Melbourne! Not liking it so far... cause I'm so far away from my family and my love one in Auck.
I held on really well ever since i left Richard at the Auckland airport... but it didn't last. Read the post Richard wrote before this? yes that! it made me cry.. sigh.
I miss the times i had in Auckland.. time spent with Richard when he was home from work. Time spent with his family and friends. We ended my trip to Auckland by watching fireworks at the Auckland Lantern Festival.. the fireworks were beautiful! There wouldn't be a better way to end my whole 52 days trip in Auckland..
I guess it'll take some time before i get back into my study mode.. but hopefully as time pass, we'll both feel better. He's gonna work hard and I'm gonna give it my best shot for my final semester. GAMBATE!!!
I love you Richard Tan Wei Chea =)
Our crazy yet love-filled journey from being 2623km apart to the day we part of death...

Gone....
Shannon has really left.... I controlled myself as I said a last minute prayer with her before sending her to the airport at 4am this morning.
But after a day's work, when I got back home I felt miserable as I found an empty room and no Shannon around. It only hit me hard that she really was gone for the next few months.
I sat down in front of my computer only to see the note that Shannon cheekily wrote a few weeks ago when I bought her a random rose. She wrote." Buy Shannon loads of roses !!" Then there was "Richard loves Shannon!" The moment I saw it tears just streamed down my face without my control. I was miserable that she has now gone back to Australia. For the pass weeks, I was always looking forward to finish work so that I could come back and see her. But now that she's away. I think I would rather work longer and harder just to take my mind off it.
I said it many times before, but I love you Ai! see you in a few months time...hang in there.

Don't give up
Just the pass few days, I have been experiencing a bit of 'conflict' at work. I know it has affected me in some way. I started off the week happy as I had a job and believed it to be a good place to work at. However, I have been a little disappointed at the way how some of the testers in Australia treat me.
My team is made of 4 people. One of them which is my friend, one who is a very nice manager, and another a nice gentleman previously from a electronics company. They're all nice and I believe I can learn a lot from them (I hope). But the pass 2 weeks, my manager has been away, my buddy friend is in Melbourne, and the nice gentlemen is always on site due to some critical failures. Hence I have offered my help to some testers who arrived from Melbourne 2 weeks ago. My role has been assisting them with testing. Pretty much doing everything that was ordered.
I didn't mind that. Yet just recently I realised that I have not gained their respect I believe. I feel that they're not the nicest people to me from the way how they treat me despite how hard I've tried to work. Being there early, working overtime, even 12 hours on weekends when I don't get paid (just temporary for the 6 months probation period), and being diligent. I understand that they all have a lot of experience hence I respect them in their field of expertise. Yet I have been mocked at when I act as a 'protector' on the railway corridors (I have a license for that but was taken away..I'll explain that later) and asked to do things like carrying their bags for them to the car and cleaning up stuff. Worst case was talking back behind my back and causing my railway protection license to be temporary taken away. There was a tester who didn't like how I performed the protection when I was on the railroad, and hence told a manager who approached me, finally stating that I should hold onto my license and not use it until a certain time due to insufficient lack of experience I have on the railway. Anyway that was a hard blow for me today when he said that to me. I have been sucking it in pretty well so far until he did that I just felt terrible.
Anyway, going to let that go now since i've gotten it out of my system here. Even though I might be lack of experience now. I'm going to work hard, extra hard, and be a valuable employee to the company. There was a story that I read @ gizmodo at the bottom, which I believe gave me a rush of motivation to performed my best tomorrow and the days to come.

This photo is showing you the edge of a razor blade at about 400x magnification. Yes, that's how close you have to get in order to read the motto hand engraved onto the surface by a 64-year-old man named Graham Short.
The engraving in the photograph was preceded by about 150 failed attempts—engravings which were ruined by a shaky slip of the hand. This number of failed attempts may seem large, but you have to consider how insanely difficult it is to engrave something onto the edge of a razor blade. There's preparation and training involved:
So whatever situation you may be in at the moment (yours might be even worst than mine), just work doubly hard. I believe hard work always pays off, but there will be a cost.

[Short] was only able to work at night, when traffic vibrations are at a minimum, with his right arm bound to the arm of his chair with a luggage strap to minimise unwanted movement. He uses a stethoscope to monitor his heart, attempting a stroke of the letter only between beats, when his body is perfectly still. He swims 10,000 metres a day and can slow his heart rate to 30 beats a minute.
He worked from midnight to 5:30 am most nights of the week, for seven months on his razor blade. On a good night he'd manage three minuscule letters.
So whatever situation you may be in at the moment (yours might be even worst than mine), just work doubly hard. I believe hard work always pays off, but there will be a cost.

Life as a working person....
My job so far has been not too bad. Would rate it probably a 7 out of 10 because my English supervisor is in Melbourne , and so is my Malaysian buddy course mate. All there is left is my other team member who is electronics pro who is always on site. So there are sometime just days where I'm left at alone at work. Mind you the my team is only made of 4 people in New Zealand and we occasionally get some 'imports' labour from Australia.
One thing I found out is that I just have no background in railway signaling, and it annoys me that I will hardly get any formal training of any sort locally. Hope they send me out because at the moment I'm just not learning too much signaling, which is basically what my position is all about.
And also, 12 hours shifts ! Just gotta love it especially on Saturdays. Last saturday I worked 12 hours from 7.30am to 7.30pm. A little not used to it but hey, apparently that's the working life style in that company. However I made a decision not to work on Sunday unless very urgent. Knowing that I am going to be so involved in my work makes me realised that I may have to reject the offer of leading a new life group. I have been approach recently to take over a life group. But because of the time and commitment I already have, I just feel that I won't do the job well with the available time I have. Plus especially since Shannon and I will continue our 'romantic' long distance thingy, I can't afford any more extra time for other things.
Speaking of Shannon, she has been such a darling. She has been cooking and cleaning at home while I go to work. Well she complained to me saying that even though she does it , she prefers to do go to work until she reaches 30s. Fair enough I guess. Anyhow I'm so very proud of her!
Gotta go now. Eugene just rang me recently asking me if I want to go for double date with him and his girl friend with Shannon. We're going to a Belgian restaurant now.....
