22 Nov 2009
I still remembered around 2.5 years ago....when things were so different from what it is now.
I was just finishing university, Alan was in his second last year, Ben was still a guitar teacher..
It was on that day, that I saw the back of an angel...who turned out to be my girl friend, who could potentially one day be my future spouse..
On that day, I was appointed to be the camera man for Ben's student. Alan offered to help out too but told me that he couldn't make it in the morning because he had to pick up a 'friend' from Malaysia who is visiting New Zealand. (During then, I thought Alan was keeping secrets from me and she was his secret special friend! )
Anyway, while I was busy snapping pictures of little kids attempting to play "3 blind mice", I saw a shadow of someone and I turned. This person had this really long hair and was covered in black (until today she still likes to dress in black!) Then behind her I saw Alan walking but their distance were akwardly far apart. I thought in my mind, there has to be something going on !!
Long story cut short, there was nothing (thank God!). Whoever knew that someone you thought was just a stranger could possibly be someone you love so much today. That long haired girl I was refering to is my girl friend and we are in the progress of successfully completing our long distant relationship for almost 2.5 years!
Excited ? Yes!
Nervous ? Yes!
As very soon in 2-3 months time we will start a new chapter of our lifes together. Call it short distant relationship or standard courting, we are going to be able to live like normal couples and avoid courting over skype & through the phone.
I'm looking forward to it Shannon....

First pay rise
Got my first pay rise today. After so long, I'm now a grade 1b.
I'm meant to get a pay rise every 6 months according to my contract. But seems like it didn't work out. Boss was probably always too busy with work and all. And I never reminded him. Lesson learned......Don't be afraid when you think you deserve a raise.
I have also mentioned to my boss that I will be migrating to Australia hopefully during June. After a bit of discussion, I agreed to stay until early June so that I can help out with the completion of the last commissioning. I was hoping for a transfer, but according to my boss chances are quite slim...in fact , VERY slim. The reason is because my company is not doing very well now. They're intending to 'fire' 8% of the employee in the whole Asia Pacific.
That means that I have to start looking for jobs soon. A lot of sacrifice going over but I know it's going to be worth it. Let's just hope that I get a job soon. Feels really insecure at the moment.
