Risk

To laugh is to risk appearing a fool
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental
To reach out for another is to risk involvement.
To expose feeling is to risk rejection
To place your dreams before the crowd is torisk ridicule.
To love is to risk not being loved in return.
To go forward in the face of overwhelming odds is to risk failure.

But risk must be taken because the hazard in life is to risk nothing.
He may avoid suffering and sorrow, but he cannot learn, feel, change, grow or love.
Chained by his certitudes, he is a slave.
Only a person who takes risks is free.

My parents

My dad's leaving tomorrow (again) back to Malaysia to work and sort out some stuff.
Gonna miss him a little cause I'm already kinda use to it...(It's been nearly 20 years!)

Was talking to them (my parents) about the future.
I want to go to Australia...(where Shannon is).
I want to support my parents and hope they move to Australia too one day.
I also hope Shannon's parents also would consider Australia/New Zealand as a retirement country.

 My parents have done so much for us.
Growing up from a poor family, dad has worked very hard to being where he is today... a successful engineer, and a responsible father separated from his wife for so many years so that we get the best education and life that he can afford.

Mum on the other hand has pretty much done a good job raising us children up, mostly by herself cause dad's away working overseas. No one who hasn't done it, would know the effort it takes to take of the kids all by herself...
Household chores, errands, money management and all....I thank her for all that she has done.

My only way to thank them, besides saying thank you is to at least take care of them when they're older.

Thanks mum and dad.

Operation R & S

Ok I had a thought of the plan for operation "R&S"

S will fly to Auckland in a month's time on 18th June 2011.
Period = 10 days.
Duration apart = one month.

R will fly to Melbourne mid October for Shannon's convocation
Period = 2 weeks.
Duration apart = 4 months

R will fly to Malaysia beginning of the year of 2012 hopefully during Chinese New Year
Period = 2 weeks.
Duration apart = 3-4 months

S may fly to Auckland to visit during her semester break.
Period = 1 week.
Duration apart = 3 months.

R will be migrating to Australia middle of 2012.
Period = ???
Duration apart = 3 months.

Just a rough idea but hopefully it will work. Personally I don't like the sound of 3-4 months apart. But what can you do with so little annual leave and holidays.

Stressful time for Shannon

Shannon's having a hard time at the moment with her assignment.
I was told that she has only been eating rubbish food ---> pizza's and fast food because of the shortage of time she has...
I personally wish I could at least cook some proper food for her.
Let's pray that her assignment quickly finish real soon & she does well in it !
