First date

Finally, a date with Ai...It was simple, but hey, we called it a 'date' ! lol...

Went to Gladstone today which was around 15 minutes bus drive away...

Had a really simple lunch because our breakfast was so heavy.. Shared a 3 combination chinese meal at the stall Ai always use to buy her lunch.. Bought a sleeping bag, shopping, and watched A-Team.

High light of the day ? It was when I attempted to buy her flowers and told her I wanted to do my own shopping alone for 10 minutes. She said ok... I frantically went to search the whole shopping mall for a a florist. Panting and sweating, I finally found one... After spending my last 5 minutes deciding which flowers to buy, I heard a voice behind me that made me jump..... Sigh.....It was Shannon...she caught me red handed ! Disappointed with my failed attempt to surprise her, I told her to go away for 1 more minute while I made my demotivated decision on the a bouquet of fresh yellow roses.

Anyway, she was happy....so it didn't matter me being caught red handed and spoiling the surprise after all..

A fun and funny day to remember.

Finally here...

So it's been 3 days here in Melbourne.. It's been raining and the weather has just been pretty gloomy so far, but none the less, nice quality time spent with Shannon so far.......

The pass 3 days, we have been just relaxing and chilling. Was pretty wasted the first day I arrived here because of watching the All Whites playing the world cup the day before coming over. Such a shame because they didn't make it in :(

Day 2 was just pretty fun. Met Shannon's friend Hannah and Deborah in the city. Had Italian food for lunch...some place called universal and gelato at some ice cream shop..(shannon whispered durian ice cream while reading what I was writing from the back seconds ago). I also bought her a watch which I think looks pretty cool.

Day 3...We went to City Life Church for the Sunday morning service. I thought the church looked insanely modern and definitely had an amazing atmosphere and presence of God...(though I would still think Harbourside is as amazing :p ) High light of the day was when I thought I lost my wallet. We spent probably 2 hours walking around from Shannon's place to my place then back again ttempting to solve the mystery case of the 4-legged run away wallet. When we finally gave up, an angle by the name of Sean (Shannon's flat mate) called saying that he found my wallet in the hidden compartment in my bag...because of all the walking, we got really tired and called it an early night.

vain

I think I can be vain once in a while but only to a certain extend lol....but just a day before I see someone, I realised that I have been taking every opportunity to stare at any sort of reflections that I can find at work...even the slightest comments made by people about my physical looks make me on guard and think what on earth will she say when she sees me!

another 10 more hours... booya!

Internet's back!

Phew....Finally , its 12 am ! So glad that my internet cap reset and I can finally continue downloading stuff.

Just before, my whole family were banned from using the internet because we didn't want to exceed the cap and pay extra money for it..

Anyway, these days have been really busy, so don't really have time to update stuff. Got to go sleep now.

ps: 2 more days!

Our mind

"So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God's laws, and it never will.
Romans 8:6-7

I feel that there are times when we are attacked inside our minds by the evil one that if we don't overcome it, it can lead us to death spiritually as stated in Romans. This is all thanks to our sinful nature, that only by depending and letting the Spirit control our mind, that we can avoid this death

The pass days I have had occasionally some of these thoughts that's too good if I don't bind it with the authority that God has given us to do so (most likely because I was dead tired each day and let my guard down). I know these thoughts, as subtle as they can sneak into our minds, can sometimes slowly eat us away without us knowing it ourselves!

So I guess its a wake up call for me as I read this chapter this morning. With the authority that God has given me as a child of God, I bind any thoughts which are from the evil one, letting only the Holy Spirit who lives inside of me take control of my mind, in His name!

Plans for this holiday?

Gave up planning a little... though i have a rough idea of what we can do. LOL

It'll be an easy going trip.. but i'll have loads to do (uni stuff) while Richard is here.
Trying to settle most of them asap.

Excited!!!
Hopefully i wouldn't be tired.
Gonna have to start shifting by Monday after my last paper.. *gulps*
Lots of cleaning, packing, unpacking and stuff to buy..

I'm so gonna go over my budget this month... aiks.

Just not my day ....

Today ? just not my day....

Accidentally went into the transit lane a little too early and there was a guy there taking plate numbers down. I saw him taking my plate number down and I thought "CRAP!" even though it was like 100m+ before the traffic lights. I just saw the law that we're not allowed to enter the transit lane 50m before it ends, and the looks of it, I might just exceeded 50m.... sigh....It might cost me $150 penalty if I do get fined.

Not to make things worst, but today just doesn't seems so nice to me. Maybe all the little small things accumulated. Got a whole bunch of itchy insect bites on my leg....probably at least 10 of them. I'm guessing must be those mites that come out during winter. Insanely itchy at some point during work today. Plus I accidentally soldered my finger while doing some testings today. The skin's white now and I think it might form a little bubble soon.

Now that I typed it out, maybe everything doesn't seem that bad... but it probably just isn't one those best days I had in a while.

Just Wondering

How exactly are things going to be in the future?
I remember when i was a kid (primary school),
I use to worry about where i was going to learn how to drive a car.
I use to worry about not being smart enough to go to uni.
I use to worry about not earning enough money to survive.
LOL.

Yup, that's what I used to think and worry about during my kiddo years...
Not that i keep thinking about it but at that age i thought of such things.

Now at 22,
I've got my driving lisence
I've successfully entered uni
But i've not start to earn on my own.

Now at 22,
I wonder how things are going to be like when (IF) I'm married.
I wonder how I'm gonna look
I wonder how would i be strong enough to take care of the household
I wonder what exactly would i be doing after i graduate
I wonder and think about my wedding day (if that ever happens)
I wonder how i'm gonna die.
I wonder if God is pleased with me.

I think it's just me... But i seriously do like thinking about the future and what it has for me.
However, sometimes thinking too much about the future just paralyzes me.

As a saying goes..
too much analysis leads to paralysis.

I realize how God has always lead me and provided for me..
What makes me think He is going to just dumped me half way through my journey.
So i should really stop analyzing too much and stop thinking about solutions for every single possible outcome, and just trust God.

I was just wondering.... =)

Time....

I realised I don't have much time.....

There's so many things to do with so little time.....

Another 14 more days and I still need to skill up and prepare for job interviews if any.

Another 14 more days before I need to build that digital thermometer.

But I only have a few hours each night because I'm working full time now this month.

O well, got to start managing my time properly now.....

ps: (is it me but I realised my style of blogging is starting to be like of some1's.)

$$$

Next 3 weeks I'll be working hard out and time will definitely fly by so quickly.

Looking forward to the extra cash $$$$ I will be earning. (though a little anxious because they haven't paid me this week...(i'm trying to save up), unless I forgot to fill in my time sheet!!)

Felt a little pai seh when I had to text my pastor to PAY UP the amount that he owed me. LOL. It wasn't the first time but I think the 3rd time. But don't care la...I just have to thicken my face if not I will never get back the money that I footed in advance for binding booklets they send out to people from their seminars.

Traffic wasn't as bad as it normally is, therefore got a bit of time to chuck something here that's been going on today.Anyway time for dinner....sometimes I think my mum's one of the best cooks in the world! (apart when she tries to cook something she had never cooked before)

Our heart's desires

I was catching up with a friend this morning on facebook when I wanted to encourage her to let God know her desire when applying for jobs, as she would need this job badly to stay in New Zealand.

I found this verse and gave it to her, without knowing this was actually something I needed myself as well.

Psalm 37:4-7

Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you your heart desires.
Commit everything you do to the Lord.
Trust him, and he will help you.

Be still in the presence of the Lord,
and wait patiently for him to act.

David calls us to take delight in the Lord and to commit everything we have and do to him. But how do we do this ? To delight in someone means to experience great pleasure and joy in his or her presence. This happens only when we know that person well. Thus to delight in the lord, we must know him better. Knowledge of God's great love for us will indeed give us delight.

To commit ourselves to the Lord means entrusting everything- our lives, family, jobs, possession and future mate- to his control and guidance. To commit ourselves to the Lord means to trust in him, believing that he cares for us better than we can for ourselves. We should be willing to wait patiently for him to work out what is best for us.

sweet talker?

Sometimes I get the feeling that people stereotype sweet talkers as the ones that are insincere and say the most wonderful things to people to make them happy to achieve their ulterior motive.

Why can't sweet talkers be the ones who are honest and sincere with the things they say ,unless that's not the definition of a sweet talker.

Went to google it's meaning and this is what Google said:

A sweet talker is a person that says everything you want to hear to get what he/she wants

If that's the definition of one, maybe I don't think I want to be one....lol.

Maybe it's just natural talent for me to be flattering with my words (thats how birds fall dead from the sky LOL! jokes..), but I guess its time to turn it down a notch...

the printer day...

Had a longer than usual chat today with dad. He called to tell me how upset mum was when we had an argument over the printer lying around in my room. Then it left me wondering if I was always the cause of these intense debates, cause I've always thought that it takes two to clap, and that I was the stationary hand while the other was the one that slaps...guess I wasn't so right.

Don't think I want to go into details at this stage but thinking about an argument over something so small makes me annoyed. I think I wrote before that I might have a bit of pride and ego issues inside me (hope that I'm not the only male admitting this).

Just put it this way, I want my little space of my own where I can do anything I want and not be limited to house standards specified by my parents. But the fact is I also want to live according to God's standards which is honoring my parents. Most of the time these two conflict each other and sometimes without knowing, I drop into the first selfish desire and arguments occur.

Sad to admit, I had this thought before that if I went overseas I would have more freedom. Freedom from nags on how I should live at home. But at the same time I thought if it wasn't for my parents I wouldn't have been the (quite) tidy and better person I am today if I had went living out.

Sometimes we think that the flaws of others are bigger than ours. But I guess for me personally I should start looking in my own mirror. Many times it's so easy to look at the little flaws that other people have and often miss the bigger picture. I thought of a funny story my dad told me when my parents just got married. After a busy day of work for both my parents, mum cooked dinner and dad complained that it was not to his liking because it was not salty enough. Eventually, mum got upset and dad got into trouble.

My point is that it's so easy to point out people minor flaws (the salt) instead of looking at the bigger picture (the meal). I am most likely preaching to myself right now and feel that I should stop looking at the small flaws my mum has and start looking at the bigger picture (how amazing my mum has been).

On a side note, I also believe that it does not mean that we should never point out others problem and be a punching bag for all since it's stated in the bible "...First take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from other's eye" (Matthew 7:5)
Before telling my mum her minor flaws (which I am in no position to at this stage), I should look at my personal flaws as a son.

Sorry mum, I love you.

dream "prophecy"

I had a dream!

Now that I rethink about it, it's not that clear anymore.
Anyway its for laughs...

Yesterday during forward (which is our harbourside's young adult meeting), we had pastor Mike starting the "WHY" series which will be lasting for 2-3 months...things like why go to church, why worship, why read the bible etc...

During his service, he abruptly calls people out to pray for them and prophesying over them or praying for their current situation they were in. There were guys who were prophesied to be having big business in the future, some of them being great leaders at church and stuff. Some of the guys were even slain getting a touch or revelation from God. Anyhow, each time he paused to call somebody out, I stared hard at his face and using my glaring eyes to say "Pick me!" . Unfortunately it never happened :( I was thinking inside "like seriously God, this would be a great time to know where you want me to go..."

Went home after that and woke up from a dream this morning. It was quite a drama story which I think could be just a random dream. Can't remember the exact details too. I was talking to this guy who seems like a prophet. After departing good bye at some place and started walking home I suddenly heard someone cried out. Apparently he had a heart attack, and he gave me a book which I wasn't sure what it was. And told me some stuff about me that I would be doing in the future. Seriously I remember he said a bit which I can't remember now. something that I DID remember vaguely is him saying that someone will support me in the things God will ask me to do.(geez, so general) And then he fell dead . LOL such drama...I laugh just thinking about it.

I took the book (leaving him on the streets, weird) he gave me and went into a car and then I was woken up by a phone call from Josh Dennis asking me if I was coming into church to help out that morning.... yes, that's right.. I overslept =p

Money vs Friendship

When it comes to cash... things are really sensitive...
But when i'm put in a position where i can't really wait till Jan to get my bond back, I really got no other way than to thicken my skin.

Some parts of me feels bad...
But the other parts of me don't.

Why renew the contract with my name again without even asking me?
Because he wanted convenience.. he didn't want to go through the hassle of the paper work.

Why did he even want to move out in the first place?
Because he wanted convenience... for himself and the people he cared about.

Why did he give me a less than 12 hour notice of whether or not i was going to move in with them when that place has no direct bus to monash?
Giving me face... maybe.

As much as i feel bad that i'm also putting him in a tough position (just this once), i think this ONE time of inconvenience for him can be justified by whatever that has happened.

I got up this morning seeing 2 sinks full of unwashed dishes.... (half of them are 2 day old, the other half i guess was left there this morning). I couldn't help but felt mad.. at the same time I thank God i'm moving out soon.

I guess some friends are best as friends.. not housemates. =)

busy week

Got quite a bit to do this week as it's going to be last week of part time job before I head off to Melbourne.

Next week will be I have been offered to work full time before I shoot off. And being a busy person like myself, I am definitely going to be short of time if I don't finish them by this week.

And jobs.....sigh. So far, a few of my applications have been rejected. But I'm trusting God for the best. I'm even thinking of applying for a working visa so that I stand a better chance. Anyway, I'm going to spend this week applying hard for jobs.

It's going to be a busy week...

ps: 1 AUD = 1.23075 NZD ( AUD has been dropping more, think I should change money now)
